My family (8 adults) will be visiting Galway for 3 nights in May 2024, how do I find vacation homes to rent near the city centre? I was looking on Airb&b and VRBO and was advised to find a service that operates of Ireland. Every google link eventually takes me back to sites like booking.com or TripAdvisor.

Have you looked at the Galway Tourism website. They have lists of hotel, B&B and self catrering accommodation in and around the city.

Selfcater.com are a web company based in Galway who have cottages to rent there (as well as elsewhere.)
Shamrock Cottages are based in Norfolk, but have a selection of s/c cottages in and around Galway and Connemara.
