I am taking a British Isles Cruise this July 2016 and am wondering if it is still a good idea to take the DART from the port in Dun Laoghaire to Dublin. The ship will leave the port at 6pm. Planning to take the Hop On Hop Off to tour the city.

We took the DART to Dun Laoghaire just to get dinner and walk around-worked great.
Just be aware that you may need Euro cash to buy your DART tickets from the vending machine. An Englishman, a Dutchman and me, a German, made the experience that DART vending machines don't accept credit cards not issued by an Irish bank.
