Does anyone have experience with traveling with Humira and finding a refrigerator in B&B's or smaller hotels?
I need to keep my Humira refrigerated , if possible.
Refrigerators don't seem very common in European hotel rooms. It's partly a space issue, I imagine. But any lodging that offers breakfast on the premises (not all do) will have a refrigerator for its own use. I would enquire about storing your medication there. My problem would be forgetting to retrieve it before departure...
I believe I've read of some sort of container or storage device for keeping medication cold, but I don't remember the details.
The B&Bs i stayed at in Europe were more accommodating for my refrigerated drugs than hotels. Just had to ask and they took care of it. I was NOT allowed direct access to the refrigerators and had to ask each time I needed it.
Good news is Humira can be left at cool room temperatures for up to 14 days and still be used.
My wife is insulin-dependent and we have never had a problem (large hotels, small hotels, and B&Bs). If our room did not have a refrigerator, we were able to leave it at the desk to be refrigerated.
