Using a cellphone in Ireland?

Was considering purchasing a SIM card at the airport. Okay, or wait until I arrive into Dublin proper?

I have no experience with Ireland in particular but I wait until I'm in town. I generally don't need to call or data right at the airport to get to my destination. I like to wait until town to get a SIM, that way if I encounter a problem I can go back to the shop that sold it for service issues.
