Unsung vistas for photos

Hi All, This is my first post here, so be gentle!

We all know the famous spots to make a beautiful photo in Ireland, but I'd love to get your opinions on some of the more unsung spots. I'm thinking places with amazing light, breathtaking vistas, colorful characters, lively food, etc...but off the beaten track.

Any thoughts?

Pretty much all of Eire and NI can fit the bill. Seriously it's a gorgeous island. Light of course will depend on the weather. My last visit in November along the West Coast I was blessed with days of blue sky where the sunshine bounced off the green hills. Also had cloudy days where you could watch the shadows of the clouds pass over. Some flat grey days as well but each and every day the countryside beckoned. I must say I was stunned by the beauty of the Gap of Dunloe in November. Having no crowds also helped my enjoyment of it. Get a rental car, take a good map (bleah to GPS) and make your own discoveries. The Sally Gap from Glendalough is beautiful. The Burren. Killarney National Park. You'll find small towns and villages along the back roads. Look for brown sign posts in front on homes.
Those signify Bnb's. Lovely country, lovely people. Meander and enjoy.

Hi

for great picture opportunities, check out any of the irish historic monuments listed in Heritage Ireland - many of them are not particularly on the main US tourist trail, but are generally well worth a visit/look. I'm prejudiced (as my wife owns a property in Co. Donegal and I've been there many, many times over the last 27 years), but pretty much anywhere in Co. Donegal, especially the coast and mountains, offers magnificent views and light!
