Hello travelers!
Just finishing James Joyce’s Ulysses and was looking forward to booking a Ulysses tour in Dublin (either 6/2 or 6/3) that had been offered that looked really interesting. After emailing and getting no response I assume that it is no longer available. I have been looking for others with no luck. There appears to be one that involves all of Joyce’s works but was really looking forward to the Ulysses tour. Anyone out there with any knowledge about this and where to look?
A big also…where should we stay in Dublin? We are finishing up our two weeks with two days in the city before flying home. The prices are staggering since last we booked our trip in 2020 that had to be cancelled due to the pandemic.
We have never been there so would like to be central. On our cancelled trip we were staying in an Airbnb very near St. Stephen’s Green for a very reasonable price. I realize this is not possible now but was wondering what a good area with access to public transportation would be - keeping in mind we only have two days there. Hoping to keep it at 200/night or less.
Thanks!
Norma
Which is the Ulysses Tour you have been trying to book? I've been googling and have pulled up three different websites.
Dublin Ulysses Tours website doesn't seem to have been updated since 2016 and the last review on Trip Advisor was July 2021. I think that one can be scrubbed.
The James Joyce Centre offer a walking tour
Liam Greene is a private guide who offers a James Joyce walking Tour

Thanks so much for responding. I will check in with Mr. Greene. The first one on the list is the one I was hoping to book. The Centre’s walk does not work with our schedule sadly and yes, have seen that website. :)
Again, many thanks!
Fingers crossed! If Mr Greene can't help, he may be able to suggest someone else to try.
A few years ago I stayed at the Davenport Hotel.
It's across the street from both Kennedy's Pub and Sweny's Pharmacy.
