Anyone have an opinion about this Folk Park. I would be interested in ancestral records they may have from early 1700 s.
It's outstanding - worth a day trip. The research facility is quite extensive, with several knowledgeable docents to point you in the right direction for your research.
We visited there last year and thought the park was great. The recreated villages were excellent as were the actors in costume. I also visited the reference library on site and was aided by a very friendly and helpful staff member (even though it was about closing time). I found documentation confirming when (1726) my ancestors emigrated to the U.S.
we arrived there the day it had closed for the season, I believe Oct 1. so, check the website thoroughly.
All I can verify is that it has a lovely parking lot, where I nearly had a Chevy Chase inspired temper tantrum.
