In another post I came to the conclusion that we'd like to stay a couple of nights on Inishmore. However, we have a couple of questions:
1) What lodging do you recommend? We are senior citizens in fairly good shape but don't want to "camp out".
2) How do we get around? Is it possible to rent a car? Are there taxis on the island?

There are minibuses you can take. If you want to be really romantic, you could take a horse-drawn cart.

Although we've been to Ireland, I honestly am unfamiliar with the Aran Islands off the coast of Ireland.
With just 1,100 residents, they have relatively little tourist traffic. Getting there requires going by ferry.
You might want to go to Booking.com or one of the online websites to find accommodations.
