Hello, we have two nights available between Feohanagh (western part of Dingle Peninsula) and Mullingar (between Athlone and Dublin). Any suggestions for a village stop, somewhere we can wander around and explore the surrounding area for a day or two? (Our itinerary so far: Enniskerry/Powerscourt Gardens area, Galway City, Adare, Feohanagh, 'fill in the blank for two nights,' farm near Mullingar, Dublin.) Thanks.
Killarney lots to see and do Muckross House Gap of Dunloe Ross Castle, Pubs, music National Park , Boat Trip
For nice and Quiet, Great hotel, food try Gougane Barra Hotel
Kenmare is nice town also
Thanks very much.
Hi Terri, greetings from Ireland. I guess you'd probably want to be heading in the direction of Mullingar after the Dingle Peninsula, so you would go in the direction of Limerick and maybe stay in Adare in Co. Limerick, about 20 minutes from Limerick city. Nice walks, good restaurants, very tangible historical sites with the castle and abbeys.
Or you could further up into County Westmeath or Tipperary. The ideal spot for you may be Terryglass, an idyllic oasis on the river shannon, small and cosy, a few little pubs and restaurants and plenty of boating options and nice hikes (but flat)..
Let me know if you need any details
