Tullamore Dew

Is a visit to Tullamore Dew worth the time and expense? I'm not a big whiskey drinker, but family members enjoy a good whiskey, and I use whiskey for Hot Toddys at Christmas.

I will be driving Dublin to Ennis, and Tullamore doesn't seem that far out of the way. I don't have a lot of time, but do not want to miss something that might be enjoyable. I will visit Jameson's in Dublin. Can't make Bushmill's this trip.

Is Tullamore worth the 39 Euros each?

Obviously this is subjective but Tullamore has a new, modern, to me over the top visitors center. Not at all like the old one that was actually in town and had an adjoining pub and restaurant. We were just there and ended up going to Kilbeggan, also in the same vicitiny and found it much more enjoyable and fitting of the experience we desired. An old historic building and good whiskey.

OR ... you could just blow off the Tullamore experience, in Ireland, and save it for The Buena Vista Irish Coffee experience in San Francisco.
