We just got back from a lovely 2 week trip. I will agree with everyone who says the people are the best part.
Here are the highlights:
4 nights Dublin ~ Saw all the sights --best were Kilmainham Gaol (fabulous and moving~buy tickets ahead of time), General Post Office (great 1916 exhibit currently) Book of Kells/Trinity College and Rural Nights Pub Tour (a blast!). Could have done 3 nights.
1 night Kilkenny~ stopped at Powerscourt on the way, just beautiful. Would like to have stayed one more night as we didn't really get to explore town. Best pub experience at Matt the Millers as The Kilkennys happened to be in town and were performing ~ so good!! Saw Jerpoint Abbey and Kells Priory which were lovely.
Definite learning curve with car but figured it out!
2 nights Kinsale (close to)~ lovely town. Saw Charles Fort and then drove to Jameson in Middleton to do whiskey tasting. Dinner in Cork (not my favorite as I preferred the small towns to the cities).

Skipped Blarney Castle as we had no interest in kissing Blarney Stone.

Drove to Dingle stopping at Muckross Farms (did not do house) and loved seeing the farmhouse replicas. Lots of farm animals. Drove around Killarney National Park a bit.
5 nights in Dingle ~ Our favorite place. Just charming town. Stayed at Pax House which is best B&B ever. Hiked, did boat tour of Harbor, Dingle Loop (better than ROK in my opinion), Ring of Kerry Loop (would not recommend doing this from Dingle ~ should have spent a night closer), drove Connor Pass. Great meals at Out of the Blue (twice) and Doyles. John Benny's was our favorite pub.

Could have done one less night in Dingle and added it to Galway. Drove to Galway via ferry (per RS) and saw Cliffs of Moher. Weather was not great but they were still amazing. Drove through the Burren. Stopped at Moran's for oysters (my husband said best he has ever had) and seafood and then on to Galway.
3 nights Galway ~ needed more time to explore city. Loved it. Quiet Man sites, Kylemore Abbey (beautiful) and did Hawk Walk at Ashford Castle that was highlight of trip for me. Definitely was a bucket list item I didn't even know I had! Surreal.
Not much I would have changed! Happy to answer questions!

Looks like you had a great trip and it was good to see what you would have changed. We are doing a 22 day trip in June and it was helpful to compare notes.
Thanks, Jim

It looks like it was a great trip. It's kind of a shame that you missed Blarney, since there is much more there than just kissing the stone. But it sounds like your trip suited you perfectly.
