Question - what do you recommend: (1) Trinity Trails and Book of Kells Experience or (2) Book of Kells & Old Library or (3) Book of Kells Experience. Need to book as I will be there in September.

I liked the old Library above the Kells Experience. They show only 2 pages of the real book and what is shown changes. The day I was there it was not impressive-hardly any color on the pages shown. However, I loved the Library and that made it worthwhile. Just my opinion, of course.

I would vote for the Book of Kells and the library. As already mentioned, you will only see two pages of the actual book, but the exhibits preceding it are very well done and informative. The “Experience” is one of these immersive digital displays that seem to be popular now, but to me it was just a lot of flash and not much substance.
The library is quite impressive and has some very interesting items on display. Can’t weigh in on the “Trails” since we didn’t do that.

We chose the Book of Kells Experience and the Old Library for our visit in May. The exhibits before you actually see the Book of Kells is very interesting. And we enjoyed seeing the Book of Kells even though you only see 2 pages. We loved the Old Library. It is beautiful! We did not consider the digital experience that interesting or rewarding, but we went because it was included in our ticket price.
