We will be spending 3 full days in Dublin and have already signed up for the Historical Walking Tour (along with 2 evening tours).
I just noticed that there is a Trinity College tour that includes admission to the Book of Kells. Does that cut out some of the waiting time to see Book of Kells or just give you admission? Is it worth it?

My memory from a number of years ago was that the tour ended at the end of the line to enter the Book of Kells exhibit, so no time advantage.

Unless something has changed in the last 3 years, although the Trinity College tour ends at the Book of Kells line, it is a line. And if you are taking the tour during a peak period you will have to wait until enough people have left that they'll let you in. If you buy a timed ticket you are guaranteed entry at that time. One way to avoid buying a separate ticket and having to wait is to go first thing in the morning or later in the day.

In 2015 when we were in Dublin we took a student-led tour of Trinity College. As I remember there was a kiosk right inside the gates and on a schedule a student would start leading a tour for those who were there. I think there were only maybe six of us on our particular tour. Really enjoyed it. This did not include the Book of Kells. We decided not to deal with the line for Book of Kells.

We signed up for "The Historical Walking Tour of Dublin". It sounded the most interesting to us.
We also will be attending two evening experiences. One is "The Traditional Irish Musical Pub Crawl" which can include dinner and Irish dancing or just the guided pub crawl depending on which night you go. The other is called "Irish Folk Tours" which is a story-telling event. You can google them both for more information.
