Trinity College Accommodation

Anyone have recent experience staying in an apartment at Trinity College during summer months? I’ll be travelling with family to Ireland and Northern Ireland in August, and the housing options at Trinity (dorms) are interesting (and reasonable!). I love the idea of having kitchen facilities so we’re not blowing the budget on eating out every day. Would love some feedback from those who have used student housing during summer months, and whether or not they’d do it again.

I booked my Trinity College room in November for July. Can’t remember who on the forum recommended staying there. But if the review hadn’t been good, I wouldn’t have booked. I booked a single en-suite room at the Business School because it’s a newer building. Not all dorm rooms in the older building are en-suite.

Looking at the Accomodations I view them as similar to monasteries in Italy. Good location and low cost. Kitchens aren’t my deciding factor.

I’m sure someone else will weigh in with their experience. Did you look at the forum search feature for review?

Slainte!

I stayed there June 2024 and would be happy to stay again. I booked rooms without a kitchen, but got the included breakfast, which was great value. There are different kinds of rooms and what I had were simple but adequate - and certainly historic, reasonable, and convenient.

I stayed in a single en suite in the Business School housing last summer, also. It was perfect for me and my friend, as we each had our own (spacious) room, access to the kitchen and "lounge" in a great location. I think each apartment had four bedrooms. At least one was occupied, but I never saw anyone else. The kitchen and lounge are separate, closed-off rooms, so it's not laid out like an American apartment with a large, central living area. Both the kitchen and lounge would easily accommodate four people, though.
