Trim

We spent the night in Trim and visited the castle. We really enjoyed it! You get to go up to an upper level. We visited a few different castles and found Trim Castle very enjoyable. We are glad we made a stop in Trim to see it.

We found the tour interesting because it explained how the castle was used since it's construction by Hugh de Lacy in something like the 12th Century. It was also used to film multiple Braveheart scenes. :-)

If you enjoy visiting ruined castles then yes. Therre's plenty to see and it has an interesting history. It's photogenic too...

I liked the castle more from the exterior than the interior. I was unimpressed with the interior. For what there was to see inside I didn’t feel it was worth the entry fee. That was in 2010.
