We are headed from Chicago to Glasgow in April. Aer Lingus has the Chicago to Dublin flight and Emerald Airlines are the flight to Glasgow. I was planning on checking our two bags straight through to Glasgow. Is this possible or will I have to claim them in Dublin and recheck to Glasgow after going through customs and immigration
They will be checked to your final destination. Emerald Airlines operates regional flights in partnership with Aer Lingus, like the various commuter airlines in the US that affiliate with the major carriers.
Depends if you are traveling on a single ticket ORD to GLA, your luggage will meet you at the end of your trip. If however, you have separate tickets, ORD to DUB, then DUB to GLA, then you will have to go through customs at DUB, recover your bags, then check in for your next flight and re-check your bags
