Traveling from Ennis to the Costwolds

I am traveling in Ireland in June and plan to continue into England. Does anyone know the fastest way to get from Ennis in Ireland to Chipping Campden in England? My primary goal is to visit Hidcote Manor Garden. I have three days (2 nights) to travel from Ennis to Chipping Campden, visit Hidcote and arrive in London. I do not plan to rent a car but I guess I could if necessary. I will be alone. Thanks for your tips.

From Ennis get to Shannon airport. Fly to Birmingham. (pick up hire car and drive to CC - optional)

Or train from Birmingham to Stratford upon Avon.

Taxi to Chipping Campden.

What day are you proposing to fly in June? Flights from Shannon to Birmingham only run a couple of times a week. There are no flights from Shannon to Bristol, so it looks as though you may have to fly into London.

The only direct flight from Shannon to Birmingham that day would have you leaving Birmingham airport after 11pm, so too late to get to the Cotswolds.

Your options, as I am sure you will have seen are therefore a 4+ hour bus ride to Dublin to fly to Birmingham or fly from Shannon to London (these flights leave around 7am or after 5pm). You have a choice of London airports and depending on which time works best for you, you would then have a 4+ hour train/tube journey to Chipping Campden. Birmingham airport to Chipping Campden is a 2+ hour journey by bus and train, involving several changes.

Neither option is straightforward and is going to take hours.

I'm not sure if flying from Shannon to Manchester would be any more convenient than a London airport, but you might compare it against the London airport options if there is a Shannon-Manchester flight that day.

Thank you for your suggestions. I have booked a flight from Shannon to Heathrow where I will get a train to Honeybourne and take a taxi to Mickleton which is walking distance to Hidcote Manor. There is another Manor, Kiftsgate Court, with a purported exceptional rose garden. I will spend most of the day traveling from Shannon but will have a full day of gardens and Mickleton. My last day after checking out I will visit Chipping Campden and travel by train to London. I am getting very excited.

It is exceptional. The women running the place are magical. They must be.

Hidcote no slouch either. My wife's favourite garden and mine - regular visitors there.

Pre arrange your taxi. Honeybourne, despite being the birthplace of my aunt, is only a wide spot in the track.
