We are flying into Dublin airport on 7/3 and are meeting family in Galway. What's the best, most efficient, timely way to get there? Train, bus, combo?? Thanks.

You can take the Airlink bus #747 direct from the airport to Dublin's Heuston station (don't get off at Connolly station). Buying train tickets online costs 15-20 euros per person (about half the fare charged at station windows) — with no particular advance-purchase deadline, and travel date is set but departure time is flexible.
