We are flying from Edinburgh to Dublin in May ( They recently stopped the direct flight from Edinburgh to Shannon ) and we are wondering what is the easiest way to travel from Dublin to Ennis to begin our RS Best of Ireland tour? We do not want to rent a car.
Trains from Dublin Heuston station take three hours with usually one connection; see http://www.irishrail.ie/ for schedules and to buy tickets online (even on the day of travel). Bus service described at https://www.transportforireland.ie/ also has a connection. www.Rome2Rio.com is another search engine to help you locate a variety of transport, but they don't find any more direct options.
Is it best to buy the bus tickets online....it is not clear on their website how to purchase the tickets once at the airport in Dublin.
