Hi - I'm staying in Dun Laoghaire, so looking both at transport from Dub Airport and in/out of Dublin center. I know that DART runs in the area, but what I find from the airport is either a combo of bus then train (is that DART, it doesn't say) or just a bus ride (about half the cost). Does DART go into the airport or not? My Airbnb is said to be near a DART station and is also near where some of the airport buses stop.
Thanks for any help you can give.
DART does not go to the airport - there is no train station there.
As the previous responder noted, DART does not go to the Dublin Airport. From Dun Laoghaire, DART is very convenient for going into the city center of Dublin, as well to points further south and north of Dun Laoghaire.
Best transportation from the airport to Dun Laoghaire would be Aircoach. That’s the private bus company that services various communities with direct bus services. Very few stops, unlike the public city buses. I use Aircoach whenever flying into or out of Dublin, to and from my stay in Dalkey, just south of Dun Laoghaire. Very convenient. And reasonably priced.
By the way, Dalkey is a delightful town to spend an afternoon. Walk or take DART from Dun Laoghaire. Nice castle, good eateries and wonderful pubs. I recommend Finnegan’s especially, for a good pint. Another nice town is Howth, on the coast north of Dublin. You get there easily via DART,
Thanks for your info and suggestions!
