We'll be traveling to Ireland in October. We arrive at 4:30 pm and our first B&B is in Cashel. In talking to the host of the B&B, it looks like we would take a bus to Limerick, then take a bus to Cahir, and yet another bus to Cashel. When I look at bus schedules, it looks like the smaller busses going to Cahir and Cashel might not run in the evenings. We'd like to hire transportation from Limerick to Cashel. True, it'll be pricier than a bus. Does Ireland have Uber or Lyft type services?

In my experience, there is no Uber or Lyft, but you could book a car/taxi service. Here is one, based at Shannon Airport:

I haven't used them, but it might be a place to start, to get an idea of cost. If you Google "transportation from Shannon Airport" you'll probably get lots of other possibilities.
A car service might be worth it, rather than a series of busses, especially after a long and tiring flight.

Assuming this is not your only stop, rent a car? We were 2 weeks in Ireland in May, I think wheels are a much easier means of getting to most sites.

Thanks, Stacy - that was my thought too - after traveling from California to Shannon, we'd be beat and the last thing we'd want was to take a series of busses, arriving at our B&B too tired to even grab dinner (well, that wouldn't happen to me, haha, but we're all "senior" ladies and we don't bounce like we used to!) John - I'd thought of that, but I've never driven in Ireland before and just wanted to take some stress out of the trip, although changing busses multiple times would certainly be stressful. Still on the fence with renting though. Thanks!

If driving just need a couple of "off duty" days to recoup. Driving requires 100% attention but doable if reasonably strong driver. SOCAL should be no problemo😁
