Transportation from Shannon airport to hotel

Hello! We're flying into Shannon early Oct. and wondering what's the best way to get to our hotel. Bus? Taxi? Thanks for any suggestions!

For two or more people with luggage to contend with you really can't beat the comfort and convenience of the door-to-door service provided by a taxi.

Without knowing the name of your hotel that is a difficult question to answer!!

In that case it is 100% a taxi. The hotel is out in the country west of Ennis. At best there isn't a bus stop within 2km, it may even be further than that to the bus station in the town Centre as the closest bus appears to be the Doolin/Galway bus but that runs express so has no scheduled stop at the end of the road from the hotel.

Alternately, you could take the Bus Eirann #343 from Shannon Airport to the Ennis Bus Station--which is at the rail station--and get a taxi from there to your hotel. This might save you a little money.

Your hotel is 16 miles from the airport but only 3 miles from the Ennis bus station.

If you don't mind me asking....if you don't have a car, how are you going to get around? Taxi from the hotel to Ennis? Why not stay at the same hotel your tour leaves from?

I've taken both the bus I mention above and the tour you're taking.

Thanks, everyone. Sounds like a taxi is the way to go.
We are staying at the hotel our tour leaves from—arriving a day before the tour begins. Any ideas of what to do in Ennis, if we feel
up to exploring, which I hope we will. Thanks.

Wow, the tour is staying that far out of town.

What happened to centrally located hotels?

My tour also is staying at the Woodstock Hotel. I find it very irritating that we are not staying in Ennis. I have opted to stay in Ennis for my extra pre tour nights.
