My husband and I will be taking the train from Dublin to Galway late May, and then we will travel on to Ennis to meet a small group. Is the train or the bus better for getting to Ennis?
Thanks!

I don't think either on is a better option than the other. They take about the same amount of time. It depends mostly on how you like to travel - some people just don't like buses, some don't like trains. It may also depend on the schedules and cost of one versus the other. You'll just have to do some research on the two options and see what fits best for you. We took a bus on that route but personally I would have preferred the train because I'm one of those that don't particularly like bus travel but that's an individual preference.
There are many private bus companies in Ireland that don't show up easily on line - bus eireann seems to show up on Google when you do public transport. But DublinBus, McCarthy's, Local Link and City Link all have services that supplement the national bus!! I know Local Link is in Galway (I've seen it!) but don't know the specific areas it operates... you may find other bus choices!
And be sure to keep apprised of strikes. The bus and rail companies have been known to strike and they usually tell in advance what days they will strike.
