I'll be staying downtown on Bachelors Walk, and need transport. I've read that the express bus might be the most economical, but is it easy? Do I need to purchase ticket in advance? I leave tomorrow, and want to get everything dialed in..thank you.

Yes, it's easy. Just outside the Arrivals area, on the street. You can buy your ticket from the driver and they speak English.
Per Laura it's really pretty easy, and as long as you're not horsing around large bags would certainly be the most efficient and economical way to go. Check their website for pickup and drop points in the city - there's bound to be one within a couple of blocks of your desired location.
