We will be looking to take the train from Dublin to Galway on 28/7,,is t usually OK to wait til the day and buy tickets at the station?
It's perfectly fine to buy at the station before travel. Booking online in advance should be cheaper however, and you can also reserve seats on the service of your choice. You're travelling a Friday which often means busy trains.
All Irish Rail services are walk up, and there don't seem to be any major events happening that day, a Friday.
However you will pay twice what you would pay by prebooking- 29.30 Euro at the station on the day, between 13.99 and 15.99 prebooking on their website, and pre-booking ensures that you have a seat- and the seat of your choice if you choose 'Manual Seat Selection'.
thank you!
