Is it advisable to book train tickets in advance while still in the US on line. It looks like you can cancel up to 60 minutes before train departure.
Also, there is no direct train from Galway to Killarney. Looking at the Irish rail schedule the choices are limited. Again, is it recommended to buy a month in advance to get tickets or is better to get it a few days in advance? Is it pretty easy to cancel and my credit card is credited the amount.
Thanks so much for your advice and help.

Funny enough, I just had this very conversation with my son, who lives in Galway, yesterday. His dad will be visiting him next month and I asked if we should buy his bus ticket now or can we wait. His advice is yes, buy now since tourist season is starting (and will be in full swing when his dad arrives.) He said busses can sell out. It should be noted that this is his advice based on experience with the Citylink bus.
