We are traveling from Belfast to Royal Port Rush for the The Open on Friday, July 19. We prefer to take public transportation as I understand there is very limited parking at the golf course itself.
I'm having a lot of difficulty figuring out the best route/mode of transportation -- Ideally we would like to take the train, but haven't had a ton of success figuring out how to find the best route/station/etc...

Thank you!! I did view that site, but had trouble finding the best route. Maybe I need to wait until the event is a little closer? Am I correct in assuming they'll release times/dates/trips as it gets closer to July? It looks like there are multiple stations and options, so I wasn't sure which location would be best?
Train from Great Victoria St. Station in Belfast to Portrush is the only route. There's usually a train every hour with a change in Coleraine, however they may put on some extra direct trains given the likely demand.
