Tour and stay

I was wondering what the public transport service is like at the weekends in some of the smaller towns in Ireland. My small home town has a limited service on a Saturday and is even more limited on a Sunday. I am planning on staying in Belfast for a few days in early October, then travelling down to County Wexford, specifically Enniscorthy and Ferns. I was planning on travelling on to Dublin at the weekend but this depends on service available. All travel will be by public transport. Any quidelines from other travellers? Would I be better arranging to move from one place to another during the week as opposed to the weekend?
Yours Annie

Bus Eireann #2 every 2 hours to Wexford from Dublin Airport and Dublin Busaras (almost across the road from Connolly station, where you arrive by train from Belfast) stops in Ferns,
also Wexford Bus #740 hourly from Dublin Airport and Dublin St George's Quay (close to Connolly)- https://bookings.wexfordbus.com/Timetable/TimetableHome?route=wexford_dublin_route740

Service 2 is hourly Monday to Saturday.

Or change at Connolly for the 3x a day train to Enniscorthy, then a short bus ride as above- https://www.irishrail.ie/_kontent/d2e85689-fbf9-010a-a02e-587ed94b5032/4299f551-bb35-4e25-a695-af348f2ce0d4/2eaa16f8-4645-4cd7-a1a2-83c1665f701b.pdf
