Tiny wedding for U.S. citizens

Hello, I am wondering if anyone has any advice for planning a tiny wedding in Ireland?

My fiance and I are Americans and we'd like a small wedding for just us, our parents, my brother, and his girlfriend (for a total of 8 people).

We would love a pub/craft brewery wedding in a beautiful place, so we are looking at the west. Basically, we want a short casual ceremony with a dinner and drinks, and maybe some live performers (dancers, singers).

We really liked the Laurels Pub in Killarney but Killarney itself is a tad too touristy for our liking. Still debating though!

Would appreciate info on non-religious ceremony planning, any general tips, etc.

Thank you! :-)

We will be watching your post closely. We want to renew our vows while we are there. So we will be looking for someone to officiate and some venue to do it at. This will not be a legal ceremony but we would still like a local minister/ church to have this at.
Good luck on your search, it looks like a wedding can happen but it takes a little leg work.

Thanks Nancy! For a non-legal ceremony, are there any legal issues surrounding this? I can't find much information pertaining to this specific type of 'wedding'.

I don't think we'd be able to do a legal wedding, given this information. It seems we simply don't have the extra time (staying there 5+ days beforehand, etc.) :-(

I would only be guessing if I said there would be no issues with having a non-legal ceremony, since I haven't done it. But if you don't have to conform to legal requirements, I can't think why there would be issues with having a small gathering.

Ceremonies involving members of the clergy seem to have a lot more red tape, but I have no idea if that would be the same with a vow renewal, as the other poster asked about. Perhaps you could locate a wedding planner in the area and see what they could tell you.

Greetings from Dingle.

Lots of American couples have their small weddings here each year so all the infrastructure you'd need is already in place.

Theres also a Distillery and a brewery and all the nice guesthouses and B&Bs here have vast experience in hosting wonderful small weddings for Americans.

If you have any specific questions just pop me an email.

Kindest regards
