hello all… I am traveling to Ireland in two weeks and would like to hike the three peaks. Will train take me to all of the places I need for great hiking or do I need to rent a car?

The three peaks are in a particularly remote part of Kerry. A train would only get you as far as Killarney where you could rent a car if you wanted to try to do it independently. Might be better to google a local company that specializes in guided walks and let them handle your details, though I frankly doubt that any of them will be operating in February.
You could save yourself a bit of time if you just flew from Dublin to the Kerry airport on one of the two RyanAir flights that run daily.
Bring your waterproofs.
