Three nights through Belfast, Giant's Causeway Ireland

I will be leaving Dublin for the North for three nights (three of us), and am not sure what to highlight for such a short trip.

It would be great to see Belfast, Giant's Causeway, and Derry, but am not sure if it is too much to fit in. It would be ideal to stay in one central place and do day trips, if possible.

Also, any recommendations for a B&B or places or towns to stay in?

In Belfast St Georges Market, Titanic Museum, Crumlin Road Gaol, Black Cab Tour of The Troubles, pint at The Spaniard or Kelly Cellars Pub and seafood chowder or fresh mussels at Mournes next to Kelly’s.
Stay at one of the 3 Premier Inns.

Thanks Claudia - sounds like some great places in Belfast! Do you have any thoughts for timing for getting to areas north of the city as well?

Our first night in Ireland we stayed at a cute hotel east of Belfast, the Old Inn, Crawfordsburn. The next day we drove the Antrim coast (in one day) including Giant’s causeway, Carrick-A-Rede rope bridge, drove by Dunluce Castle, and took a tour of Old Bushmills distillery. We spent that night in Portrush at the Adelphi hotel. Remember that Northern Ireland uses the British Pound while the Republic of Ireland uses the Euro as currency.

jaimeelsabio, thank you! I think it is doable, then. Did you visit as far as Derry, or would that be too ambitious?

From Portrush we went through Derry, but didn’t stop because there had recently been a bombing. We headed south, stopping to see an ancient ring fort, stop to see the shrine in Knock, and stopped for the night in Galway. I don’t see any way to fit in Derry the same day as the Antrim coast, but would be possible the following day. We were there in October 2010.

Thank you! I think we will try to base somewhere just north of Belfast and see the pacing of two day trips: One for the coast, and possibly one for Derry. This way we are close to Belfast on the day we depart for Dublin.

Thank you for your responses.
