Has anyone stayed in the Harding Hotel in Dublin? The most current review on Trip Advisor was two years ago. Any feedback will be appreciated.
Thanks!
I stayed at the Harding on a Rick Steves Best of Ireland tour in 2014. My rooms were fine (stayed there on the front and back ends of the tour) but some had rooms over the bar which was noisy at night. The rooms were clean and my single room was larger than some of the other European hotels I've stayed at. I thought it was well-located and hotel staff were very nice...a cable lock got jammed on my brother's suitcase and the office staff managed to cut it off for him. They were so kind.
I'm seeing TA reviews as recently as 3 days ago.
Thank you, Pam. I don't know why the bad review from 2015 popped up, but I kept looking and found much more current and definitely better ones. I wouldn't have been so concerned for myself, but I'm taking a group of friends with me.
Thanks again! Your response is helpful.
We also stayed at the Harding. Great location, clean albeit simple rooms, friendly staff. The provided breakfast at the attached cafe was wonderful (full Irish, if you want). For the price, it's tough to beat.
Have stayed there and the location is quite good. The only downside, as Pam mentioned, is that some rooms are over a bar and it can be (but not always) noisy at night. But not so loud that ear plugs can't fix the problem. The walls are (or were) a bit thin and noise from rambunctious neighbors was distracting, albeit short lived.
Thank you everyone! I'll be sure and pack my earplugs. ;)
Yes, earplugs and maybe a white noise app on your phone? I use this in hotels just to even out noise. The one I downloaded (in the middle of the night when I was sharing a hotel room with a family member and her snores were keeping me awake, lolol) was free so I'm sure there are choices.
