Hi, we just booked the Heart of Ireland tour. Our flight to Shannon arrives from the US at 6 AM and then we will take a taxi to our first tour hotel in Ennis. I imagine we can leave our luggage at the hotel and do some exploring before we need to gather at 2 PM for the initial tour meeting and orientation. What are some things that you recommend that we could do and see in Ennis between arrival and the 2 PM tour meeting? Thanks in advance for your help!

It sounds like you are arriving on the first day of the tour. I took this tour in 2017 and we also arrived on the first day. You can walk around the charming town and find a place for lunch. The Cliffs of Moher is included on the tour.

We did the Heart of Ireland tour years ago and spent time in Galway before the tour. We took the train to Ennis two days before the tour. You will be tired after your flight and won’t have much time to pass before the tour meets up. Wander around and enjoy this charming town!

A few years ago we drove over to Ennis (stayed in Doolin) to pick up a friend who arrived there via bus after missing a flight. We got there about 3 hours early and enjoyed our time just wandering around the town center. Ennis was not on our itinerary and was a nice surprise!

Thank you for your input. Yes, the Cliffs of Moher and included in the tour. I think just walking around the town after a long flight sounds good.

When we went to Ennis, there was a young chap standing next to the Daniel O’Connell statue and he was offering tours. He gave us a private walking tour and then showed us the sport of Hurling, which we had never heard of. It was an unexpected, delightful day!

Hello from Wisconsin,
Find your Ennis hotel and crawl into bed. Sleep two hours, force yourself out and into a shower. Get a nice pint of Guinness and relax. Don't hit a tour tired.

You can catch a bus to Ennis at the airport and it was cheap if you have cash. Something like €6 each. We went to a concert at the Glor music hall. We went in this tour in 2018
