The Spencer in Dublin

Hi. We will be in Dublin at the end of July. We are staying at the Soencer, north of the Liffey. It's expensive and a friend who knows Dublin recommended staying south of the river.
What do you think?
Thanks

I'm not sure that I understand the question here. Can you please articulate your question a little better?

We are staying at the Spencer, a hotel on the north side of the Liffey. A friend who knows Dublin said its better to stay on the South side.

I always stay on the north. Perfectly suitable places on both sides. What is your friend concerned about?

It's a 7 minute walk from the Spencer to Temple Bar and Trinity College. Seems to me that you'll be just fine where you are.
