Besides the adapter that will go on the end of my power cord, do I need a converter when using my laptop in Ireland? It is a fairly recent Dell laptop
Very likely all you need is the adapter. To confirm, look around on your laptop or the power cord for a bunch of small print words. If it says ""Input 110 - 240 volt" (or something along those lines) then you're fine. Examples on this website: https://www.travelessentials.com/dual-voltage-appliances-how-to-tell.aspx
All of our Apple products are dual voltage—iPhone, iPad, and laptop— and worked fine in Europe and Japan. The Kindles and my digital camera are dual voltage too and they worked as well. It appears that the kids Nintendo (switch & 3ds) are not. We re-charge then using an external battery.
For Dell, the 100 - 240 is printed in teeny tiny print on the ”brick” portion of the power cord.
