Suggestions for day trips originating in Tralee...what is reasonable?

I am in the beginning stages of planning a ten day trip to Ireland in July. This is our second visit to Ireland but we will be traveling with friends who have not visited before. We are considering a base in the Tralee area, specifically, Blennerville. I think we will spend 2-3 days in the Dingle area, I would like to visit Galway and the Cork area. Although I loved the Cliffs of Mohr and Ring of Kerry, I don't think the drive is doable as a day trip. Opinions and suggestions please.

The Cliffs and the Ring of Kerry as a single day trip? No. They are in opposite directions from Tralee, to start with. Driving from Tralee to Liscannor (where the cliffs are) is over a three hour drive. The Ring of Kerry drive, from Tralee to Kenmare, is over three hours with no stops. Cork is toward Kenmare, Galway is beyond Liscannor. It would be easy to stop by the Cliffs on the way to Galway from Dingle. You haven't said where you are flying into, so it's hard to lay out an itinerary, but you should look at a map and mark the places you want to visit, then a route might suggest itself. I use www.viamichelin.com to see drive times and routes (it gives you alternatives).

Yes, thanks. Like I said, I am just beginning to plan and am trying to decide what is worth doing again so my friends can see what is most impressive but also not spend too much time traveling. We will most likely fly into Shannon.
