I'm contemplating going with my husband to Shannon. Its a biz trip for him so I'd need to hire a guide to show me around for a day so I can get my bearings. The rest of the time I could probably manage on my own - I think unless I would need to arrange some trips to the adjoining area i.e Burren etc. Any thoughts? I've been to Ireland twice before, but on the east coast...Dublin and County Wicklow areas. I've never visited Shannon before but I have been in the area and seen the Cliffs of Moher and further southeast to Waterford on my previous trips. Open to suggestions as to the top things to visit for a real Irish experience if anyone has any to share. I will have 5 days to ramble on my own and probably another one day to do things with my husband. He has to work! I get to play. Thanks for any help anyone can offer.
