Stay around Dublin June 29 - July 1st

We will be flying out of Dublin July 1st 2024
We hope to visit some sites in Dublin before we leave.
Due to the Taylor Swift concerts all the hotels I find with in Dublin are at a premium.
Any recommendations for a place that will give us easy access to Dublin, we will have a rental.

I guess you realize that there will be over 120,000 people in Dublin for her two concerts. I’m not sure you’re going to find easy access to anything during your time there. I wish you luck!

Yes, we are aware of the three nights of concerts. We do at least have a room booked on 6/30. We wouldn't mind staying some place where can take a train or bus into Dublin.

Swords and Malahide would be my first choice for their easy access to the airport. Then Bray and the towns around the Red Cow Luas (transit) Depot.

When our son arrived in Dublin, he took the train out to Howth for some hiking and nature for the day, so I'm wondering about Howth as an option, because it's not too far away.

It is unclear what 'towns' around the Red Cow are meant. But several of those nearby suburbs are served by the suburban rail (not DART) better than LUAS. The Ibis is actually at the Red Cow- but is full that weekend.

Maybe try looking up the North Suburban rail line (the same lines as the Enterprise express trains to Belfast use) between Balbriggan and Drogheda. There is a frequent suburban rail service as far as Drogheda.

Accommodation pricing and availability will improve dramatically the further away you move from Dublin city center that weekend. I'd suggest taking a look at train routes and schedules to find somewhere within 45 minutes or so to make for an easy commute - realizing that at least some of the money saved in accommodations will be paid back in transportation costs.
That said, Drogheda might be just the place you're looking for. It's close enough to Dublin on a direct rail line to be convenient, and with a car you'd be well positioned from there to explore Newgrange, the Boyne Valley, Trim, etc on your own and at your own pace once you've satisfied your curiosity about Dublin. The location would also be handy for explorations further north all the way to Belfast if you chose.
The village of Carlingford is about 45 min. by car from Drogheda. We happened to stop there a few years ago while returning to Dublin from Belfast and really enjoyed the place. Can recommend it as a pleasant day trip.

Thanks for all the great suggestions. We are now considering staying and visiting other locals near Dublin and just staying there only the night of 06/30, we already have a reservation for that one night.
