We are traveling to Ireland in May/June. I have a couple of questions.... do we need an adapter for charging things? Also, what do you recommend for travel from airport to downtown Dublin? We plan to rent a car at airport when we are leaving Dublin to travel the countryside.

You need an adapter... specifically a UK/Ireland one. There are a quite a few for sale on amazon for a good price.
I think that we are going to use Airlink bus from the airport to Downtown. You can buy return tickets for 10 Euro per adult.
