Hi everyone! First time posting here. Me and my wife are going on our 3rd trip to Ireland next year. We love the Sligo area but never spent much time there, our last 2 trips we stayed in Strandhill but never for long. This next trip we'd like to spend about a week in County Sligo. Other than Strandhill what small seaside town would you recommend? We don't want to stay in Sligo town. I've looked at Google maps of course but wanted some personal recommendations. We will have a rental car so we don't need to worry about anything like public transportation.

I'm curious why you settled on County Sligo, and partly I'm asking out of person interest because we have a family connection with a village outside Tobercurry (Tubbercurry) near Toulrestane. We haven't been but would very much like to.
We're told that Tubbercurry nowadays has a lot of Polish immigrants. We have not heard it described as particularly charming or tourist-attractive.
