Small quaint towns to staying by the main attractions in South and west of Ireland

We re traveling in and out of Dublin for 14 days and are planning our trip. We love small quaint towns and was wondering if you have recommendations for towns/BnB’s that are near the areas Kilkenny, Kinsale, Kenmare, Dingle peninsula, Cliffs of Mohr and Galway and maybe Roscommon. We are not wedded to these towns but thats the general direction we are traveling. . My husband loves ancient history, we love traditional music and local culture. I have relatives in Tralee (hopefully) so will spend some time there as well. TIA!

20 minutes from Kilkenny, Lawcus Farm Guesthouse: https://www.lawcusfarmguesthouse.com/ (Our favorite BnB a few years ago.) Watch the UTube video link on the website.

In Kenmare we enjoyed Ashfield Inn and it's charming hostess, Mary.

It's likely a Forum veteran with more skill will post instructions for zeroing in on lodging recommendations.

We enjoyed Lahinch for proximity to the Cliffs of Mohr. Craglea Lodge is a small family owned guesthouse on the southern edge of town. Edel and her daughter Emerald are wonderful hosts.

Doolin, near the Cliffs of Moher in Co. Clare, has four pubs offering traditional music. From one end of the village to the other is less than a mile so you could walk to all four. O'Connor's is one of the most popular venues for trad in Ireland.

Doolin also has many B&Bs from which to choose. Our favorite is the Fisherman's Rest, right behind O'Connor's. https://www.accommodationdoolin.com/

For ancient history, take the ferry from Doolin to Inishmore, the largest of the Aran Islands, and visit the c. 2,500 B.C. Dun Aengus ring fort. It's about five miles from Kilronan, where the ferries dock, so you'll need to hire a driver. Two ferry companies operate out of Doolin.

I second the above recommendations for either Lahinch or Doolin as well as the Inis Oirr recommendation. Another option for a base would be Ennis depending on your schedule. We visited all of the above a few years ago from our Doolin base.
