I have just booked 3 rooms in Skerries for our last night in Ireland. The website says it's only about 20-25 minutes from the airport. Is this correct? We have a 10:50 flight on a Tuesday, but I am still worried about getting the cars returned and having a calm morning.
One other thing. Are there things to do in Skerries?

We stayed in Skerries our last night in Ireland but that was in 1992. Seems like it was about 3/4 hour to the airport but my hunch traffic and rental car return time have increased since then. Maybe the roads have improved over time so the drive will be shorter. Skerries was lovely then and we wished we'd had more time there.
Keep in mind that you'll likely be dealing with morning traffic coming into the city from the north, so you might want to adjust your departure time that morning to account for possible congestion on the M-1.
Maybe check with your hosts regarding alternate routing that will bypass the Motorway and keep you clear of the morning rush.

One more question! Is it true that we should be at the airport 3 hours before our flight? I don't think Tuesday will be a heavy travel day.
It's been a couple of years since we've been there, but I think the collective wisdom on the forum is that the 3 hour advanced arrival is still a good idea, and that's generally been our guide for international returns to the US - we prefer to do our waiting (if there is to be any) beyond the security checkpoint.
As mentioned before, check with your hosts to get the latest on traffic, suggested arrival time at the airport, etc.
