I want to ship a box from Galway back to the US so I don't have to lug stuff around Europe. So far, I have found it to be pretty expensive, around 70 euros for a 5 kg box. Anyone have other suggestions? I don't care when it arrives back in the States.

In my past travels, I think a rarely managed to mail a heavy box home from Europe for less than $40 through the postal service's slowest option (by sea) and other shipping services would cost more. Books still qualify for a lower rate. http://www.anpost.ie/AnPost/PostalRates/PostalRatesHome.htm
