Sightseeing between Dingle and Doolin

I have a day/night to fill between Dingle and Doolin. Any suggestions for sightseeing as well as somewhere to stay along/near the way. We wanted to have three days in Doolin but the best we could do is 2. So... if there is anything anyone can think of, that would be great. We will be in Ireland in May 2025.

Thanks!

Pat

Hi Pat! Leaving Dingle, consider driving over the Connor Pass and stopping for beautiful views along the way. There is an option to take a ferry from Tarbert, avoiding a long drive through Limerick, but you may have more luck finding activities and lodging there (e.g. Bunmratty Castle, etc.). You will encounter the Cliffs of Moher as you approach Doolin, but consider timing your visit toward the very beginning or very end of the day to avoid big crowds - we stopped around 2 pm but I wish we had driven right by to our hotel and come back later. Tickets to the Cliffs allow unlimited and multiple entries for 24 hours, though you could hike there for free if time allows. Depending on weather you can take ferry trips to the Cliffs, and of course you can visit the Aran Islands for the day or overnight.

If you do take the Tarbert to Kilimer Ferry then do a loop around the coast and down to Loop Head. Spend the night in Kilkee

Next day potter up the coast to Doolin. Do the short detour to Kilfenora with its ancient church and carved cross. Have a stop at Hag's Head which is the southern limit of the Cliffs of Moher (less busy than at the Visitor Centre) and go for a walk along the top of the cliffs from there. Head for Doolin.
