While driving from Dublin and Kinsale, I was interested in seeing Powersourt, Glendalough, Kilkenny and the Rock of Cashel. I am certain that this one day itinerary is way too agressive. Please confirm that it is too agressive. Which of these areas are "can't miss?" This is our first time to Ireland and we appreciate your help. Thank you
IMHO Glendalough and the Rock of Cashel are can’t miss. Depending on the time of year, early spring, late fall or winter, I’d skip Powerscourt.
Thank you Trotter for the quick and helpful post. Are Glendalough and Rock of Cashel doable in one day. Thanks!
Dublin to Gledalough to Rock of Cashel and Kinsale is about 350km and 5+ hours drive. It is doable with an early start.
Thank you Wasley!-we don't mind long car rides and early starts. We appreciate you taking the time to respond.
I’ve been to both the Rock of Cashel and Glendalough and both are worthwhile. If you had to pick one, for a first time trip, I’d pick Cashel unless you are also into hiking as there are nice walks/hikes around Glendalough. I wouldn’t do both in one day.
