We will be in Ireland in early June for only 3 days, starting in and flying out of Dublin.
Should we try to get all the way over to Galway or should we spend our time closer to Dublin, hitting Kilkenny and Cashel instead?
Are your 3 days full days in Dublin, or are you counting days of travel? I would tend to stay near Dublin. There is plenty to see just north of Dublin and south of Dublin: Wicklow mountains, Glendalough, Powerscourt Gardens, in addition to Kilkenny and Cashel. There is also plenty to see in Dublin for a couple days. You'll just have to plan on returning at a later date to see more!
Thank you! Great advice!
Stay around Dublin. Glendalough a must. Same with New Grange. If adventurous can drive, bus or take the train to Belfast early in the morning. Two hours. Visit the Titanic Museum and take the Black Cab Tour of The Troubles then head back to Dublin. Long day but do able and then you can say you visited two countries in 3 days.
