Shannon to Dingle Recommendations

Hello. My friend and I have booked a hotel in Dingle for two nights in September. We were hoping for three nights, but the hotel and much of the town are fully booked. Am hoping one of you lovely experts can share some advice. Our original plan was to arrive to Shannon on a Saturday. Do you recommend staying that first night in Limerick, in Adare, elsewhere on the Peninsula, or simply eliminating a day of the trip (note: we join a tour on Tuesday that will cover Ennis, Connemara, Galway, the Cliffs, points north, etc.)? If you recommend staying that extra night, can you possibly recommend a lovely B&B? Our two week tour involves all hotel stays, and we thought maybe this would be a good opportunity to try something different. Many thanks in advance for your advice and insights!

Where does your tour start from? Is your question that you want a B&B recommendation in the Shannon/Limerick area? I am not sure I understand the question.

I’m sorry, my message was confusing. My question is really two-fold: since we can’t spend an extra night in Dingle, where and what would you recommend (to stay/do) somewhere on the drive from Shannon to Dingle? The tour books don’t have much to say on this. Thanks!

Well its just about a 3 hour drive from Shannon to Dingle and I guess since you initially wanted to stay 3 nights in Dingle, you want to stay somewhere nearby? So not knowing your budget or what you like, this is a shot in the dark.
First, you could stay in the Bunratty area(six miles from airport). There is a castle and folk park there.
Or, you could start the drive to Dingle and stay in Adare (cute, thatched roof houses town). Adare Manor has a hawk walk that would be fun.

Third, you could continue on to Tralee, stay in a castle at Ballyseede.
Hope this helps! Who are you touring with?
I would not eliminate a day-that would be tragic!

Was the Fiuise BnB in Dngle booked? Maybe cancel you other two nights at the hotel and do 3 nights there?

Or visit Portmagee for an over night befor staying in Dingle. Portmagee Heights.

Yes further south than Dingle but not immensely so and such a lovely area.

Thank you all! Thanks for confirming that losing the extra day in Ireland would be most unwise! Tour is with Overseas Adventure Travel. Thanks for the great suggestions!

Get every night you can in Dingle if at all possible. The music is phenomenal.
