Shannon Airport to hotel in Ennis

just want to arrive day tour starts.

That's risky in case there are any travel issues. Best to arrive the day before including dealing with any jet lag.

It will take between 30 and 40 minutes to get from Shannon Airport to the Ennis Bus Station (next to the train station) depending on which service you take. That's just the bus trip.

While Shannon is a small airport, it's anyone's guess how long it will take to get through immigration and customs.

thanks for the reply. not sure what we will do. Not much to do in Ennis the day before or day of tour. Also will take a cab from airport to hotel for convenience.

Ennis is a lovely little town. After a long international trip, once you get settled, just go for a walk. It will help with any jet lag.

The problem arriving the day of the tour.....if there is a problem with your flight, you could miss out on the first evening including the welcome dinner.

Definitely go over a day (or two) early if at all possible. On one of our RS tours one couple had delays and didn't arrive until very late the night of the day the tour started.

It's smart to take a cab from Shannon to Ennis. It's relatively cheap and extremely convenient. There is a help desk at the airport that can arrange a taxi for you.

Ennis is a lovely town get settled in and get to the pubs and take in being in Ireland. I arrived in Ennis and spent 2 nights before my RS tour and enjoyed settling in buying snacks at Dunnes . talking to locals, and getting over the jet lag ( also west coast) . The Ennis friary is interesting to visit and the guide was great to chat with and get recommendations from. The Flead Nua begins May 25th if that coincides with your trip the music is worth a night or two !

Thanks for the advise. We made an executive decision are going to arrive the day before the tour starts to deal with flight delays and jet lag though we do fly from Newark so flight is 7 hours.
