September Ireland Trip

We are looking at a September Ireland trip through Great Value Vacations. They provide flights, choice of B and Bs and car through Dan Dooley Car Rentals. Any thoughts? We would fly into Shannon and out of Dublin. Format sounds very good as does the cost and it would allow us to explore on our own. Thanks in advance

A quick search of reviews on yelp and tripadvisor results in a very mixed bag. Some travelers had no issues and felt they got a good deal while others felt they were completely scammed and had loads of issues.

Personally I would skip them and book on my own (which I did - we are going in September also) to have more control over my trip.

Before you buy, price everything out on your own, not hard to do, then compare the costs. When you do a package like this, your choice of accommodations may be somewhat limited because you will likely be given vouchers which are not accepted by all B and Bs.

Have a great trip!

i'm not an expert but i booked our last trip to ireland on my own with no problem - just used Rick's guidebook and picked B&Bs everywhere. I would recommend Galway, boat ride to Inishmohr(Aran Islands), Dingle, whatever you can do of the Ring of Kerry - agree with Rick that Killarney is way too touristy.
