Seeking advice for upcoming trip

My husband and I are planning a trip to Ireland later this summer. I have been there twice, but he has never visited. We are thinking of staying in the Dingle area. Can anyone recommend a place to stay? We saw the Dingle Skellig online and it looked amazing. Also, we are thinking of starting in Dublin and staying there for two nights. Then, we would like to take the train to the Galway area and maybe hire a driver to take us around for the rest of our trip. We would welcome any suggestions for good local places to eat. Thanks for helping.

I was just on a Rick Steves Ireland tour in October 2014. Our group was split between Heatons Guesthouse http://www.heatonsdingle.com and Castlewood House http://www.castlewooddingle.com/ both were great places, everyone in our group thought they were the best accommodations of our trip and the staff and breakfasts were great also. Enjoy Dingle!

We stayed here in Dingle: http://www.brownesdingle.com/. The hosts couldn't have been nicer, that sat us down upon arrival and talked about the town, gave us great advice and tips for our Slea Head drive, and the breakfasts were fantastic. It's maybe a 10-15 minute walk from this B&B to the town center, but it's also beautiful there and an enjoyable walk. Our favorite restaurant in Dingle was An Canteen, it's run by two brothers from the area, and the food was excellent. In my opinion, the best part of Dingle are its pubs and music scene (which picks up around 9 p.m.). Our favorites were John Benny's and for a neat experience, Foxy John's (which is a pub and hardware store!).

We stayed here in Dublin: http://www.stauntonsonthegreen.ie/. It was nice because it's walking distance to almost everything worth seeing, but it's on the south side of St. Stephen's Green, so it was quiet at night. Breakfasts were good, staff was friendly.
